Plasma nozzle

Plasma: History or absurd witchcraft?

At the beginning of the 20th century, the phenomenon of plasma (taken from the Greek = something moulded) attracted a great deal of research and experimentation. The plasma appearances were the high point of every physics lecture and were to be found at every large trade fair.

Loved and feared, plasma is still surrounded by all sorts of rumours and dark figures. Yet in reality atmospheric plasma is an environmentally-friendly and innovative substance based on physical laws.

Probably the best known plasmas are the natural phenomena of lightning and the northern lights. No wonder, then, that the old myths and legends were continually imbued with this 4th state of matter, ascribing it fantastic and magical powers.

After this phenomenon could very recently be produced artificially, it was initially used commercially for the pure welding of metals. In 1967 generators and plasma jets were developed specifically in Japan and led to the first patenting of the atmospheric plasma used for pretreatment after successful testing on surfaces.

We show our full respect to these gentlemen from Japan.

raantec was founded in 1997. In other words, we did not come on the scene until 30 years after the first pretreatment plasma systems appeared on the world market. Today we can be found among many in the continuously growing international market for pretreatment.

Permanently successful raantec developments at our plant in Germany mean that we can construct and offer modular extendible plasma systems in the shortest time. We are recognised and in demand among our customers as a provider of modern, state-of-the-art technologies.

Our engineers will continue to impress the market in future with new technologies based on the Japanese invention.

The Internet serves as a forum for communicating new technologies and information for everyone. Unfortunately, truths and untruths are, as ever the case, hard to distinguish at the above trade fair. We have adapted our product correspondingly in line with the verdict of the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf, ruling out any chance that the process can be used in violation of patents.

Claims that plasmas produced using alternating current are colder than other plasmas are not tenable. Here you have the opportunity to read an expert survey from an independent body.
